Episode 1: The Photographer’s Equipment

INT. PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO - DAY

The photographer, JIM, is laying out all of his camera lenses on the desk. His assistant, LUCY, enters the room.

LUCY: “Wow, is all of that your equipment? You must really know what you’re doing.”

JIM: “Yeah, I’ve invested a lot of money into this stuff. But I would’ve never gotten into photography if it weren’t for my first love, skateboarding.”

LUCY: “How does skateboarding lead to photography?”

JIM: “Well, you see, I used to take pictures of my friends doing tricks on their skateboards. I guess you could say photography was the next best thing.”

Episode 2: The Photographer’s Process

INT. PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO - DAY

Jim is editing some photos on his computer. Lucy walks in with a coffee.

LUCY: “How’s it going?”

JIM: “It’s slow going right now, actually.”

LUCY: “Why’s that?”

JIM: “I’ve been staring at these photos for so long, they all start to look the same.”

LUCY: “When I take photos for myself, I just edit them in an app on my phone.”

JIM: “Yeah, well that’s not really the professional way to go about it.”

LUCY: “If you say so, boss.”

Jim looks up at Lucy and grins.

JIM: “But sometimes I’m not so professional myself. There was this one time I forgot to take off the lens cap during a whole photoshoot.”

Lucy cracks up laughing.

LUCY: “I have a feeling there are going to be loads of stories like this.”

Episode 3: The Photographer’s Assistant

INT. PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO - DAY

Jim is setting up his equipment for a photoshoot. Lucy is by his side, ready to assist.

LUCY: “What can I do to help?”

JIM: “I need you to hold this reflector so that the light bounces off of it and onto the model.”

Lucy attempts to hold the reflector, but it’s clear that she’s struggling to keep it steady.

JIM: “Relax your arms and hold it steady.”

LUCY: “It’s so heavy!”

JIM: “It’s not heavy, it’s just awkward to hold.”

The model steps onto the set and poses.

JIM: “Okay, that’s perfect. Stay just like that.”

Lucy adjusts the position of the reflector, causing Jim to frown.

JIM: “Lucy, that’s not quite what I asked you to do.”

LUCY: “I’m sorry, I was just trying to help!”

Jim sighs and walks over to Lucy.

JIM: “I know you’re trying to help, but sometimes it’s better just to let me do my job.”

Lucy nods, knowing that she’s still got a lot to learn.

Episode 4: The Photographer’s Client

INT. PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO - DAY

Jim and Lucy are preparing for a client meeting.

LUCY: “What kind of photography is it that we’re doing for this client again?”

JIM: “It’s for a new line of luxury handbags. They want the photos to be high-end and sophisticated.”

LUCY: “Sounds fancy.”

The client enters the room and greets them both.

CLIENT: “I’m so excited to be working with you guys. I know you’re going to make our products look amazing.”

JIM: “Of course! That’s what we’re here for.”

As the meeting continues, the client begins to get more and more specific about what they want.

CLIENT: “And make sure that the light is hitting the bag from this angle. And be sure to put the model’s hand in this specific position.”

Lucy can tell that Jim is starting to get frustrated.

JIM: “Listen, we’re photographers, not puppeteers. We can give you our professional advice, but we need some creative control as well.”

The client nods, realizing that they’ve been too controlling. Jim takes a deep breath and continues the meeting.

Episode 5: The Photographer’s Critic

INT. PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO - DAY

Jim and Lucy are attending an art gallery opening. A critic approaches them.

CRITIC: “I see that you’re a photographer. What kind of work do you specialize in?”

JIM: “I like to focus on landscapes, mainly.”

CRITIC: “Ah, I see. Well, let me tell you, there are plenty of nature photographers out there. What makes your work unique?”

Jim pauses, unsure how to answer.

LUCY: “Jim’s work is unique because he brings a fresh perspective to the natural world. He sees things in a way that most people wouldn’t.”

The critic nods and begins to flip through Jim’s portfolio.

CRITIC: “I must say, these are quite impressive. I would love to feature your work in my next article.”

Jim grins, happy that someone was able to see the beauty in his work.

Episode 6: The Photographer’s Wardrobe

INT. PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO - DAY

Jim is looking at his closet, pondering what to wear for a photoshoot.

LUCY: “What’s the occasion? Why do you need to dress up?”

JIM: “It’s an engagement photoshoot. I want to look professional.”

Lucy looks puzzled.

LUCY: “But you can wear jeans and a t-shirt and still look professional. It’s not like we’re photographing a wedding or something.”

Jim laughs.

JIM: “You’re right. I guess I’m just a little nervous. It’s my first engagement shoot.”

LUCY: “Don’t worry, you’ll do great.”

Jim nods, feeling reassured by his assistant’s confidence.

Episode 7: The Photographer’s Assistant (Again)

INT. PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO - DAY

Jim and Lucy are setting up for a wedding photoshoot.

JIM: “I want you to help me with something important.”

LUCY: “What’s that?”

JIM: “I need you to make sure that the bride’s dress is always falling perfectly. It’s a big part of wedding photography, you know.”

Lucy nods, ready for the task.

LUCY: “What if I accidentally step on it or something?”

JIM: “That won’t happen. Just be careful.”

Lucy nods again, already feeling nervous.

The bride walks onto the set and Jim begins to snap photos. Lucy keeps a close eye on the dress, making sure it looks perfect.

Suddenly, she trips over a cord and stumbles into the bride.

LUCY: “I’m so sorry!”

The bride tries to laugh it off, but Jim is clearly not very happy.

JIM: “Lucy, I said to be careful.”

Lucy hangs her head, feeling like she’s let her boss down.

Episode 8: The Photographer’s Trip

INT. PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO - DAY

Jim is packing up his equipment for a photoshoot in the mountains. Lucy is gathering warm clothing.

JIM: “I’m so excited for this shoot. The landscape is going to be incredible.”

LUCY: “Just don’t forget to watch where you’re going.”

JIM: “What do you mean?”

LUCY: “Knowing you, you’ll probably trip over a rock or something.”

Jim grins, knowing that he’s a bit of a klutz.

JIM: “Hey, accidents happen.”

As they drive up the mountain, Lucy can tell that Jim is feeling a little nervous.

LUCY: “Are you okay?”

JIM: “Yeah, I’m just not used to driving on such a narrow road. It’s making me a little anxious.”

Lucy reaches over and pats his hand.

LUCY: “Don’t worry, boss. I’ve got your back.”

Jim smiles, knowing that he’s lucky to have such a supportive assistant.

Episode 9: The Photographer’s Discovery

INT. PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO - DAY

Jim is looking through some photos that he took on the mountain shoot.

LUCY: “How’d they turn out?”

JIM: “Not great. My camera lens was dirty.”

LUCY: “Well, it wasn’t a completely wasted trip, was it?”

JIM: “What do you mean?”

LUCY: “You always seem to find something new to photograph, no matter where you are. Remember when we were in the park and you found that perfect tree? You ended up selling so many prints of that photo.”

Jim nods, remembering the tree.

JIM: “I’ve always had a knack for finding simple beauty in unexpected places.”

Lucy grins, feeling proud of her boss.

Episode 10: The Photographer’s Hilarious Story

INT. PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO - DAY

Jim and Lucy are sitting at their desks, taking a break from work.

LUCY: “So, what’s your funniest photography story?”

JIM: “Well, there was this one time when I was taking photos of a family in a park. The dog ran up and started humping my leg.”

Lucy bursts out laughing.

LUCY: “No way!”

JIM: “Way. I ended up having to Photoshop the dog out of the photo. I don’t think the family even noticed.”

Lucy can’t stop laughing and Jim grins, happy to have given his assistant a good laugh.

JIM: “I guess you could say that’s what makes photography so fun. You never know what’s going to happen next.”
